The Residents Have Been Paying Attention

Melting snowmen with hats and scarfs stand around a lit jack-o'-lantern.

Here's something about the residents of Snowman Falls that took me a while to accept: they keep up. They watch what we watch. They scroll what we scroll. And when a trend comes through town, they do not observe it from a respectful distance. They participate.

Pop Culture, Fully Chilled is the record of that participation. I want to be clear that nobody staged any of this. We just wrote down what happened.

The incidents, in no particular order

One resident heard that poker is best enjoyed outdoors and committed completely, which is how we got All In: Poker Under The Beach Umbrella. The umbrella was his idea. He called it strategy. Another booked himself a spa afternoon (Rejuvenate: Cucumber Face Mask Spa), reasoning that self-care is for everyone. Honestly... hard to argue.

There's the one who took a beach selfie (One More: Beach Selfie), then took another, then one more after that. There's Almost: Opening A Stubborn Bottle, which ended roughly how you'd expect, except he was considerably less upset about it than you would be. Things reattach around here. It's an ordinary, fixable problem.

Calculated Risk: Lighting The Jack-O'-Lantern deserves a mention because he did the math first. He stood there, considered the flame, considered himself, and proceeded anyway. He seemed pretty sure about it ~ they always do.

And then the quieter entries. Breakfast Of Champions: Toast And Coffee. Five More Minutes. Laundry Day Meltdown. Thought This Through, which, for the record, he had not. Not every incident is dramatic. Some are just an ordinary morning, documented honestly.

Who this collection is for

I showed the collection to Kate. She went quiet for a minute, then started naming names. Not the residents' names. People we know. That's how this works (it's never really about the snowman). You scroll past Still Got It and a specific face appears in your head, uninvited. You see Melting But Thriving and you know exactly who has been saying some version of that all year.

So it's a gifting collection, mostly, though plenty of people recognize themselves and keep quiet about it. Comfortable Enough. Totally Worth It. No judgment from me. I bought one too, and I'm not saying which.

The shirts themselves

Every design in the collection comes printed on a Comfort Colors premium tee. The residents handle the ridiculous part. The shirt stays out of the way and lets the incident speak for itself.

One last note

Walter was present for at least a few of these incidents. The poker game, certainly. The stubborn bottle, we believe. We cannot prove he caused anything. We never can.

The full record is here: Pop Culture, Fully Chilled. Take your time with it. Somebody you know is in there.
