There's a stretch of every summer in Snowman Falls when the sensible residents stay in the shade and the rest of them get ideas. Somebody has to keep a record of the ideas. That record is called The Snowdrift.
The Snowdrift is our collection of snowmen doing exactly what you would advise a snowman not to do: water skiing with a drink in hand, ordering the wings extra hot, drawing a bubble bath. Each incident is documented on a Comfort Colors premium t-shirt, because some things deserve to be remembered in fabric.
The record, as it stands
Midsummer Meltdown: Water Skiing With A Drink is self-explanatory, which is rare and appreciated. He did not spill the drink. That was the part he was proud of afterward.
I Said Extra Hot: Wing Basket happened at a place just off the square. The kitchen tried to warn him. Five Alarm: Chili And Hot Sauce appears to be the same gentleman, as far as anyone can tell, a few weeks later. Some residents learn. Some order again.
Self Care: Bubble Bath Spa Night is exactly what it sounds like, and I want to be clear that nobody stopped her, because in Snowman Falls nobody would think to. Stay Dry: Umbrella Under The Shower documents a more cautious resident facing the same basic problem. The umbrella helped (somewhat).
Shotgun: Golf Cart In The Rain I witnessed personally. Kate wanted to watch, which tells you something. Walter rode the cart roof the entire way down the fairway. Nobody can prove he had anything to do with it.
Last S'more Standing and Calculated Risk: Wicker Chair Marshmallow Roast cover the campfire chapter. A wicker chair, an open flame, and a resident made of snow. He weighed the risk ~ he called it calculated. Nobody has seen the calculation.
Then there are the ones that need no scene at all. Zero Flakes Given. Too Far Gone. Meltdown Mode. Find Your Center... which one resident attempted and, by his own account, found.
Who this is for
Here is what I've noticed about people browsing The Snowdrift: almost nobody starts by shopping for themselves. They see the water skier or the wing basket, and a name arrives before the smile does. A husband. A dad. A sister who has never once ordered mild. You aren't really browsing. You're identifying someone.
And occasionally, sure, it's you on the water skis. That's fine. The residents would never judge. They were pretty sure about their decisions too.
The Snowdrift is open whenever you're ready. Take your time. The snowmen certainly didn't.
